Center table. The project was ranked No. 1 at the SEBRAE Minas Design Award, in the professional category, leavings modality.
About the project
Inspired by the mountains of Minas Gerais, the del Rey Table has an organic design. The piece's format keeps its base stable and rigid. Both the glass cover and the base are supported by three spots. The functional, light and structural material is obtained through wood leavings. The project is oriented for the reuse of leavings in the furniture industry.
“The utilization of leavings to create products allows the reduction of waste and environmental damage as it stimulates economic growth, alongside with the generation of new jobs. Raw materials that are not utilized by industries, such as wood, metals, fabric, newspaper and bottles, are able to gain new forms and functions. The profitable reuse of these leavings and its social and environmental impacts are, progressively, recognized and appreciated by society.” (text from the Catalog of the SEBRAE Award)
